Well where do I start ? This surgeon is absolutely amazing. I searched for a surgeon that specialises in hysterectomies, endometriosis and fibroids. Thank goodness I found Andy Pickersgill, he has changed my life completely. ( in a positive way) After our initial Skype consultation I new that my problems were going to be resolved, I just had a very positive experience from the start. From our initial meeting in December 2022, an examination, and a MRI Scan, I am now in recovery from a very successful laparoscopy procedure for a total hysterectomy, removal of fibroids and removal of severe endometriosis. The Alex Hospital, Cheadle care was amazing. Thank you to all of the staff there too. The whole process was seamless, I cannot thank him enough and would recommend ANDY PICKERSGILL to anyone that requires help within his field of surgery. He is the only professional who has listened, asked questions, and resolved my serious discomfort for sometime. Before speaking to Andrew I honestly thought I was going crazy, as nobody seemed to be listening to my issues and couldn't give me any answers. He just new straight away what my issues were and these were all confirmed with an MRI SCAN. Thank you, thank-you thank-you Mr Pickersgill. I must also mentioned his PA Gabby, who was very responsive and prompt with any questions I had. Thank you, Gabby.

I initially learnt about Dr Pickersgill after having completely unsatisfactory treatment at NHS hospitals, I then spent time researching who to have my care transferred over to. Andy's name came up over and over and over again from ladies who's lives had been changed by him. I had my care transferred to him within the NHS and also booked into see him privately. My NHS appointment isn't for another week or so yet but I've seen him face to face and also had one surgery with him (these all happened within 2mths). He was running late for my first appointment (no big deal .. he'd had a complicated surgery beforehand), I was only in my appointment for 2minutes before the tears started flowing - he just gets it... He doesn't belittle you, he listens, he understands, he gets it, and that relief was overwhelming! My whole appointment took approx 10mins, he had a feel of my Endometriomas, assured me he was most confident he could remove them quickly and efficiently, I received my quote a few weeks later and was booked in for the operation a few weeks after that. I had my surgery at Spire Manchester, my main nurse was fantastic but after shift change the second nurse wasn't quite so good, his registrar was lovely though. He made the time to come to ward quite late on (approx 7pm) even after a full day of surgery as I'd requested an explanation as to what had happened during the surgery etc and he obliged. I'm now actually looking forward to seeing him within the NHS to get my other endo symptoms dealt with. I recommend Mr Pickersgill 100%

After 5 years of being told I had a "Bad back" I finally got to the bottom of what was going on with the help of Dr Pickersgill. If you are looking for someone to take you seriously and to listen to you then he is the man! He was recommended by a friend and would highy recommend him!

After 11 years of pain and a miserable life (and two other gynaecologists), I was recommended to see Dr Andrew Pickersgill, who diagnosed my problem and fixed it. After I woke up from the surgery I was pain free for the first time in 11 years. I can't recommend him highly enough, he's an outstanding surgeon.

I first met Andy following two years of misery and being messed around by the NHS. I was menopausal and suffering with extremely heavy bleeding. I am 49. He told me that I was menopausal and that my bleeding was linked to fibroids, which I had removed 3 years ago and recommended a hysterectomy. I was concerned about having such a procedure so young, but Andy told me this was the only sure way to get my quality of life back. He was right. Andy is a brilliant surgeon and a safe pair of hands. He explains things clearly and is extremely honest. Not only that, he has empathy and compassion and takes the time to listen and understand. I am an extremely nervous patient and he even came to the anaesthetic room and held my hand whilst I was put to sleep. He is a marvellous human being. My surgery went extremely well and although it was difficult, he managed to keep it keyhole and so my recovery was very quick. I was back at my desk 2 weeks after a complete (radical) hysterectomy. Following my surgery we discussed HRT and Andy made sure that we got the balance right, something we are continuing to monitor. So, from start to finish I received the best care from Andy and his team and would not hesitate to (and often do) recommend him.
